Visiting our homes over Christmas

The Coronavirus pandemic continues to affect all care homes significantly and the situation is changing on an almost daily basis. In light of this each of our homes is being assessed individually on a daily basis in line with the latest guidance from Public Health England. We would ask all relatives to call their relevant home and discuss the restrictions in place at any given time.

At Macc Care we fully understand the desire to visit loved ones at Christmas, particularly when for much of this year that has not been possible. However, we also have a duty to keep your relatives as safe as we possibly can, as well as keeping our staff safe in order that they can look after your loved ones. We believe that the best gift that anyone can give a loved one at the current time is that of a safe Christmas – whether that loved one is in a care home or a relative living in another household. To achieve this inevitably means minimising contact with our homes and the wider community, wherever possible. We would ask all our families to consider making plans for a remote call to their loved ones over the Christmas period, and we will do all we can to facilitate COVID safe visits as soon as is possible and when and where we can. We know how difficult this is for many families, but your support and understanding to date has been amazing – we hope you can understand if we ask you to give it to us over this period.
